FLOATING SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS
HydroSolar modular floats can be configured in various ways and optimized to provide the most cost-efficient, durable, and safe solution for each project condition.
The floating system configuration is designed according to several parameters.
01
PV Module Size
HydroSolar is compatible with the common 72/144 Cell PV modules and the larger 78/156 Cell PV modules. A larger Long Walkway Float (WWF-L) is used to adapt HydroSolar floating 78/156 Cell PV Modules.
03
PV Module Tilt Angle
HydroSolar provides a tilt angle range of 5-15°. The optimal choice depends on latitude and wind conditions. A higher tilt angle increases the anchoring system cost.
02
PV Module Azimuth Orientation
Mono and dual azimuth orientations are possible. Mono orientation provides higher energy production whilst dual-orientation reduces the wind load and therefore the anchoring system cost. Dual orientation is selected at low latitudes or in sites with harsh wind conditions.
04
O&M Walkway Interval
This is one of the most important factors affecting the cost, area usage efficiency, and a water coverage ratio of the floating system. The walkway interval refers to the number of PV rows of PV modules between walkway float rows. An interval of 2 PV module rows provides full ease of O&M while larger intervals reduce the floating system cost significantly.
